I built this because I kept bailing on myself.
LockIn exists because knowing what to do was never the problem. The problem was the quiet moment where you decide not to, and no app I tried had anything to say about that moment. So I built the one that does.
Robert Tolbert. That is the whole team.
No investors, no growth team, and nobody whose job depends on your screen time going up. That is a limitation and it is also the point: there is nobody here who benefits from making the app stickier rather than more useful. If something in LockIn is annoying, it is a bug or a bad decision, not a strategy.

Your body is not our business model.
Your weight, your sleep, your resting heart rate, what you ate and what you skipped: all of it sits in encrypted storage on your phone and does not leave unless you send it. Not because of a policy that could change next quarter, but because the app was built so that there is nothing on a server to change its mind about.
- Signing in is optional. The app works fully signed out and offline. An account only buys cloud features you have to ask for.
- Photographed meals are processed in memory and never uploaded. Barcode decoding runs on the device.
- Allergy checks are a deterministic rule, never a model's guess. That decision is not allowed to be probabilistic.
- Export and deletion are free and permanent. Getting your own data out is not a paid feature and never becomes one.
What it will not do
The list matters more than the features.
A miss stays yours.
Nothing is broadcast when you skip. Wins are celebrated once, at the moment they happen, and then they get out of the way.
The AI does not decide you trained.
Progression, completion and food safety are ordinary deterministic code. The language model writes sentences; it does not get a vote on the record.
It reads recovery before it pushes.
On a bad day it tells you to rest and it means it. A coach that only ever says go is not a coach, it is a timer.
Closed testing, honestly labelled.
LockIn is on Android and Wear OS and is in closed testing, which means it is real software with real rough edges rather than a waitlist for a promise. Google requires twelve testers for fourteen days before anyone can install it publicly. That is the gate we are at.
