Help get LockIn out of testing.

Google will not let a new developer account publish an app to everyone until twelve people have tested it for fourteen days in a row. That is the only thing standing between LockIn and a public release.

Four steps, and the slow part is not yours.

Step one

Give us your Google address

The one attached to your Play Store account. It has to be that exact address, because Google matches the tester list against it.

Step two

Accept the invite

You get a link back that opts you into the test. Play then shows LockIn like any other app, and it updates like any other app.

Step three

Use it for two weeks

Actually use it. Google counts days where testers are opted in, so the clock only runs if you stay in the test.

Step four

Tell us what broke

Use the feedback form, or reply to the same address. Nothing is collected automatically, so if you do not tell us, we do not know.

What you need.

  • An Android phone on Android 8.0 or newer. Readiness scoring needs Health Connect, and on-device meal photo recognition needs a phone with Gemini Nano, so a recent Pixel or comparable flagship gets the most out of it.
  • The Google account your Play Store uses. A tester list is matched by exact address, so an alias or a second account will not let you in.
  • Two weeks of staying opted in. Leaving the test resets the streak Google is counting, for everybody.
  • Optional: a Wear OS 3 or newer watch, if you want to try live heart rate zones and wrist sessions.

What you are signing up for.

This is a real test, not a launch party.

Things will break

You are among the first people outside the developer to run this. Expect rough edges, and expect them to get fixed quickly.

Your data is still yours

Testing changes nothing about the privacy model. Your health data stays in encrypted storage on your phone, and no analytics or crash reporting SDK is watching you. See the privacy policy.

Export before you leave

If you decide to bail, take your data with you. The app can write an encrypted backup file you control with your own passphrase.

LockIn is a fitness and accountability tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical advice. If you have a condition that affects how you should train or eat, talk to your doctor before using an app that tells you to move.

Ready?

One address, and you are in the queue for the next batch of invites.
